Latest Fishing Report:
Date: Time: Report:
Jul 02, 200804:10 pm Crabbing from the Dock and from the rental boats has been excellent the last few days. The boats are also reporting catches of snapper blues in the area of the 37 bridge. 12-16" weakfish are being caught in the area of Tices shoal on shrimp, worms and pink fin-s/BKDs... Ocean fisherman are reporting plenty of fluke to be had but the ratio of throwbacks to keepers is 20/1. The "Junkfish Kid" Scotty reported a good catch of stargazers off the Pier yesterday. Some other anglers had small fluke with a few keepers mixed in but Scotty remained true to his junkfish...John
Jun 29, 200807:35 amYesterday was a little quiet on the beaches. We did have a few bass come in from the boats and James Blandino had a nice 35 lb bass from the kayak. George and "Junkfish Kid" Scotty hit the Casino pier for some fluke. George reported 4 fish, all shorts and taken on gulp, but Scotty had a big day with 3 sea robins. Nice going Scotty...

Crabbing remains good in the bay and small blues are making on and off appearances around the Dock...John
Jun 28, 200807:30 amRay Nebus, Penny and Frankie Pocketbooks made a trip yesterday for bass and had plenty of fish up to 35#. George Moran fished in memorial of his recently deceased son John W. Moran and had bass to 33.5#. Crabbing from the Dock remains excellent with catches of 1-4 dozen crabs with bunker being the best bait at this time...John
Jun 25, 200808:00 amThe beaches have been quiet for the past 2 days but we did have a nice little bluefish blitz last evening off the Dock behind the shop. Scotty said they had blues from 1-6 lbs for about an hour or so. Crabbing remains good...John
Jun 22, 200809:15 amWow, what a week for the boat and kayak crew. Bass weighing 25-40+ lbs were so common this week that a 18-20 lber looked like a throwback. Here are a few of the keepers from the last 2 days.. Ray Cortese got out for his semi-annual trip and he and his son Ray both caught nice bass. Ray sr. 35# and Ray jr. 25#... Penny Nebus continued her great spring fishing with another bass of 25.5#. Steve Soma had 6 fish to 40# and Todd Callan had our largest of the week at 52#. Crabbing from our Dock has been consistent with catches of 2-3 dozen being common... John

Jun 16, 200805:30 amGood weekend of fishing. Bass were caught from the beaches and boats on Saturday and the boats and kayaks on Sunday. Penny Nebus had her first 40+ lb bass weighed in caught while snagging bunker on their boat. Bass pushed bunker onto the beaches in Ortley and lavalette Saturday evening and Craig Carr was one of the lucky ones to be there. He tossed a pencil popper and was rewarded with a nice 24 lb bass. Crabbing off the Dock has been excellent with 1-3 dozen keepers being caught. Small blues continue to provide some good action in the bay and can be caught on bait, plugs and poppers...John
Jun 12, 200808:00 pmCrabs has been good off the dock. Most crabs are 5 to 6 inches. Bunker has been the bait of choice. The boats have been hot also. Fishing remains consistant with some bass being caught from the beaches. Stop in for all your fishing and crabbing needs
Jun 09, 200805:00 pmDespite the hellish temperatures today, some of us that managed to escape the comforts of artificially cooled air, made it out on our boats and hit it big with bunker pods, bass and a handful of blues. Tom and Rick from the shop crushed stripers from 28 to 38 lbs. Jay and Scotty, in a separate boat, reeled in several bass up to 29 pounds. Additionally, Ray Nebus and crew showed up with quite a few, weighing up to 46 lbs. All of the aforementioned boats left port around 5 AM, caught their limits, and released fish up to 28 pounds. Fishing has been bountiful from both the surf and the boats. Bunker pods have been edging up the beach for the last two days. Numerous fish have been weighed in and all new photos should be posted within the next 24 hours.
